For five years, I played a pivotal role in the creative rollout of all visual applications for the Polaris Music Prize, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to celebrating Canadian music. This encompassed the creation of promotional materials, event show signage, pitch decks, web and social graphics, Spotify playlist artwork, and the packaging design for the limited vinyl record Cover Sessions. Working in-house, our collaborative efforts not only ensured visual consistency but also resulted in cost savings, making each project more efficient and cost-effective.
The challenge we faced was ensuring that the Polaris Music Prize's brand was effectively and consistently represented across a wide array of visual applications, each with its unique requirements and audiences.
In partnership with the design studio, Doublenaut, we embarked on a creative journey. We closely collaborated to align the visual identity of the Polaris Music Prize across all platforms. This included a dedicated focus on design consistency, innovation, and maintaining the highest quality standards while making efficient use of resources to save money.
Our concerted efforts not only led to the successful creation of a strong and consistent visual identity for the Polaris Music Prize but also resulted in cost savings. This newfound cohesiveness enhanced recognition and impact, reinforcing the organization's mission to honor and reward Canadian music artists, while also improving its overall financial efficiency.
